September showers bring October flowers

A couple of weeks ago Sara woke up with a bug bite on her arm. The bites came slowly at first. Sara would get one or two bites a night. This was a little bit disheartening because we had no idea where they were coming from. We thought we might have bed bugs (gross!). Then I started getting them. Now we were both getting bit from something. We had no clue what they were.

Three nights ago, we stayed up later than normal, which is pretty late for here. I was just about to fall asleep when I heard “BZZZzzzzzz…..” WHACK! I cracked the bug on my face. I think I scared Sara half to death, but by this time I was hyper-vigilante, ready to unleash my wrath on these creepy-crawlies.

Mosquitoes. We have a mosquito problem.

This was odd because we never saw them during the day, but made sense since we can’t close the windows all the way. So last night, we barricaded ourselves in our bedroom (okay, we didn’t; Sara just laughed at me) to keep the bugs out. So far so good, and only one night to go.

Since we are spending our last night in our apartment in Centro, Sara and I decided to go to our favorite Italian restaurant, D’oro just down the block. Sadly, they were not playing a Marc Anthony concert DVD like last time, but Bryan Adams. There’s nothing like ‘Summer of 69’ and spaghetti.
